No retrieve was going to be available so, just before going to bed last night, I re-programmed my instrument from a declared gal at Carlisle, to a local triangle. Loads of PGs had travel from Yorkshire an beyond to sample Tinto's delights today. A bit scratchy when I eventually launched but, because most of the mile chasers had already disappeared in a couple of gaggles, I had room to find that elusive bit of lift and climb out. The triangle was very similar to the one I did on Saturday, but it was declared this time - turned out to be pretty easy really, conditions were that good. Cloudbase a bit lower than Saturday though. After closing the triangle at the dimple, I set up a top landing to be close to the car, but thought better of it when I remembered the consequences of overshooting and maybe going down on the north side - long drive to collect glider. Flopped over the back climbed again then headed over to the Dungavel bottom landing, to avoid annoying the farmers by landing in sheep / lamb filled fields. Another splendid day. |
